I’m Wajahat, a product designer with over five years building AI native SaaS, B2B platforms, and consumer apps. I currently lead design at Qlu.ai, an AI executive search platform, where I redesigned the core search experience and shipped an explainable AI shortlisting flow that made model output something people trust instead of second guess.
Before Qlu.ai I designed consumer mobile apps that each passed a million installs, and earlier I built a full POS ecosystem end to end. I like problems where the system is complicated and the interface has no right to be.

{04} — How I work
Understand

I start with the constraint, not the canvas
- Sit with the actual problem, the metric that is stuck, and what the team has already tried. Understand the client’s vision, goals, and target audience.
- Read the analytics before forming an opinion, so the brief is grounded rather than assumed. Analyze competitors and industry trends to gather insights.
- Agree with product and engineering on what success looks like before any design exists. Set the project’s objectives, deliverables, and timelines.

I go wide fast, then commit hard
- Multiple directions early, cheap and rough, so we argue about the idea and not the pixels. Create low-fidelity wireframes to map out the site’s structure.
- Pressure test each one against edge cases and failure states, not just the happy path. Develop a design language including colors, fonts, and UI elements.
- Narrow to one with a reason I can defend out loud. Build clickable prototypes for client feedback.
- Finalize Design: Approve the final design with detailed mockups for all pages.

I try to break my own work before anyone else does
- Prototype the real interaction so the team feels it instead of imagining it. Build out the website structure using selected tools.
- Map every state, including empty, error, loading, and the paths nobody plans for. Import and format content (text, images, videos).
- Take the harshest feedback first, because it is the cheapest feedback I will ever get. Optimize on-page elements for search engines.

Design is not finished when it launches
- Work alongside engineering through build rather than handing off and walking away. Present the site to the client for feedback.
- Watch the numbers after release and separate a design problem from an engineering one. Make necessary changes based on client feedback.
